Gliomas arise from the glial cells or non-neuronal cells hence the name and the cells are supposed to provide support and protection for neurons in the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. Gliomas are caused due to growing or invading into or creating pressure in nearby the normal brain tissues developing tumors in the brain and spinal cord.
