Blood purification has always been viewed as a branch of medicine which is extremely crucial and complicated. The extracorporeal blood treatment is a type of filtration method used to remove many toxins from the blood.
By the end of 1960’s, a company named B Braun started to manufacture its own dialysis machine. Extracorporeal blood treatment is a purification process that takes place outside the body. The blood passes through the membrane, filters the waste or molecules within the extracorporeal region and returning to normal state. Purified blood is then returned back to the patient’s body suffering from kidney injury.
The growth of the dialysis facilities in the U.S. has increased by 6% annually over the past five years. There has been an increase in the population of U.S. diagnosed with end-stage renal disease.
